Spiritualism in India: What Exactly Is It?

There are hundreds of different religions around the world. Some are little bit different from each other while others are completely unique in nature. For centuries there has been debates on which religion is better and the right one to follow. Unfortunately, there is really no evidence to say exactly what religion we should follow. While religion is set of practices and beliefs that are shared by the group of people and community there is also another concept that is gaining its popularity: spirituality. Spirituality or more commonly called spiritualism is very popular in India and eastern countries. What spiritualism basically is a belief that world is made up of two things: matter and spirit.

The Difference Between Spirituality and Religion

The main difference between religion and spirituality is often misunderstood by most of the people. While religion deals mostly with beliefs that are shared by large group of people, spirituality is more of an individual practice. Spiritualism is set of practices that are about finding purpose and peace in life. It is more about finding meaning in life and connecting better with others.

Is Indian Spirituality Right For You?
If you are into spiritualism, there is no better place than India for it. The popularity of this set of beliefs has been growing tremendously in the western world. One of the recent examples of a person that has been practicing spiritualism was Steve Jobs who went briefly to India in order to meet his Guru. But the questions is: is Indian spiritualism right for me? There is really no correct answer here. It all depends on you and only you have the answer to these question.

I can only say that if you follow spiritualism, then India will be calling your soul sooner or later and you would be able to understand the gist of Spiritualism in India only.
