Ganga- The holiest of the holy rivers of the hindus, the centre of many ancient civilizations of India has been declared 'Carcinogenic' or 'Cancerous'. Isn't that saddening ? It means that the holy river is the source of Cancer. GOSH!
Today in the morning since I read the newspaper, seeing this news in the frontpage made me sad. Thoughts of tours to Haridwar and Benaras are coming to my mind so often. It is so paining to know that such a beautiful river has been declared cancerous (on the basis of research reports). Its actually all our fault. Mother nature had given us a beautiful river 'Ganga' but we deposited everything on its bed to make the water poisonous.
Saddening but true that almost every family has some family member whom they have lost to Cancer.
Had the people been conscious about this thing earlier and the so-called environmentalists had taken steps to clean the ganga of the cancerous poison then the river would have been the holiest of the holy rivers in its true sense.
Lucky people who never had the chance to know what is 'Cancer' here goes a feed on Cancer.
Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body.Cancer grows out of normal cells in the body. Normal cells multiply when the body needs them, and die when the body doesn't need them. Cancer appears to occur when the growth of cells in the body is out of control and cells divide too quickly. It can also occur when cells forget how to die.
